PS2 must be set to PbPr/YCbCr output before connecting the adapter, otherwise the image will not display. This can be done by starting the console without a disc, which will take you to the settings menu. From the menu, select PbPr/YCbCr for video output. If you're unable to change the video output, follow the instructions below to change it another way*.

*If you can't get the image to display for video output change, you can also change it like this:

Start your PS2 console without a disc in the drive.

Wait about 20 seconds to ensure it’s in the main menu.

Press the Down button.

Press the X button.

Press the Down button three times.

Press the X button.

Press the Left button.
